A11Y-NIMAS Master is the accessibility division of DMI Systems Pvt Ltd, trading as Digital Media Initiatives — a publishing services group working with educational publishers since 2007.
What we are for
A student who cannot read a printed page should not therefore be unable to take the course. That is the whole of it. Everything we produce — a NIMAS fileset, a tagged PDF, a conformance report — exists so that the same content reaches the same students at the same time as everyone else.
We are a production team before we are a consultancy. Most of what we do is detailed, standards-bound work on real titles with real deadlines, and we would rather be judged on whether a fileset validated and a title certified than on a methodology diagram.
How we work
We tell you early if the source will not convert. A scanned PDF is not a text-based one, and no amount of process makes it behave like one. We check before quoting, not after invoicing.
We write conformance claims we can defend. An Accessibility Conformance Report full of unqualified "Supports" is worth nothing to a buyer who tests it. Where a product partially supports a criterion, our report says so and explains what is affected.
We finish things. Uploading a fileset to NIMAC is not the same as getting it certified. We stay with a title through validation and follow up until it is done.
Part of a group
Digital Media Initiatives has been producing digital publishing work since 2007. A11Y-NIMAS Master is the division focused on accessibility; sister operations cover EPUB production, composition and content engineering. In practice that means a title needing both accessible output and conventional production can be handled without moving between suppliers.

Professional membership
We are members of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), the global professional body for accessibility practitioners. The standards we work to move — WCAG 2.2 added success criteria, VPAT editions revise, NIMAC validation tightens — and membership is part of how we keep current with them.
This website
This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Every text and non-text colour pair on it has been measured, it works without a mouse, it respects reduced-motion preferences, and it carries no reversed-out text. We would be poor advocates for the work if it did not.

We are members of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, the global professional body for the field. Membership keeps our team current with the standards, techniques and testing practice that our clients' obligations depend on.
